Jesus told the people, “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.”
“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
Jesús dijo, “Ustedes son la sal de la tierra. Pero ¿para qué sirve la sal si ha perdido su sabor? ¿Pueden lograr que vuelva a ser salada? La descartarán y la pisotearán como algo que no tiene ningún valor.
“Ustedes son la luz del mundo, como una ciudad en lo alto de una colina que no puede esconderse. Nadie enciende una lámpara y luego la pone debajo de una canasta. En cambio, la coloca en un lugar alto donde ilumina a todos los que están en la casa.”
“De la misma manera, dejen que sus buenas acciones brillen a la vista de todos, para que todos alaben a su Padre celestial.”
