Jesús utilizó la siguiente historia para enseñar sus discípulos más acerca de la oración: «Supongan que uno de ustedes va a la casa de un amigo a medianoche para pedirle que le preste tres panes. Le dices: “Acaba de llegar de visita un amigo mío y no tengo nada para darle de comer”. Supongan que ese amigo grita desde el dormitorio: “No me molestes. La puerta ya está cerrada, y mi familia y yo estamos acostados. No puedo ayudarte”. Les digo que, aunque no lo haga por amistad, si sigues tocando a la puerta el tiempo suficiente, él se levantará y te dará lo que necesitas debido a tu audaz insistencia.
»Así que les digo, sigan pidiendo y recibirán lo que piden; sigan buscando y encontrarán; sigan llamando, y la puerta se les abrirá. Pues todo el que pide, recibe; todo el que busca, encuentra; y a todo el que llama, se le abrirá la puerta. (Lucas 11:5-10)

The Parable of the Friend at Midnight
One of the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Jesus used this story:
“Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless perseverance.”
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:1,5-10)

El gozo de cada día
De Jesús con cariño
Hoy es el nuevo día que Yo dispuse, ¡24 horas para regocijarse y alegrarse! (Salmo 118:24.) Mantén los ojos abiertos en todo momento para no perderte ninguna prenda de Mi amor ni ninguna oportunidad de alegrarte.
Mira por la ventana y contempla la belleza de la creación: es señal del amor que albergo por ti.
Piensa en tu familia y en tus amigos: son evidencia de Mi amor por ti.
Si el día hoy parece tormentoso, recuerda que por muy oscuro y nublado que se vea el día, Mi gozo está siempre presente en tu corazón y no depende de las circunstancias que te rodean.
Fija tus pensamientos en las cosas buenas, bellas y verdaderas que suceden a lo largo del día y deja que tu corazón se llene de alegría por esas manifestaciones de Mi amor (Filipenses 4:8).

From Jesus with Love
Today is a new day that I have made—24 hours in which to rejoice and be glad (Psalm 118:24)! Keep your eyes open at every turn so that you don’t miss any tokens of My love and opportunities for rejoicing.
Look out your window and take in the beauty of creation—that is My love for you.
Think of your family and friends—they are My love for you.
If today is looking like a stormy day, remember that no matter how dark and cloudy your day may be, My joy is ever present in your heart and is not dependent on the circumstances around you.
Fix your thoughts on the things that are good, beautiful, and true throughout your day and let your heart be filled with joy for these manifestations of My love (Philippians 4:8).
